Finally somebody stepped up and did something to inspire the whole nation as far as 1malaysia is concerned. Hannah yeoh who is the state assemblyman of subang jaya and her husband Ram are poised to label their child with no particular race, instead they chose their child to simply be a Malaysian. For people like me who call themselves patriots, this news is nothing but a breath of fresh air and hope. I am an Indian and my people are mostly rebels of the government as they are living in a delusion where they feel they are being discriminated which i totally disagree with.
I have always tried explaining to my people about how lucky we are and how Malaysia is a free and blessed country but very few seem to understand. Hopefully hannah yeoh is successfull with her fight to call her child a Malaysian so that the non malays may have some trust that Malaysia still remembers its a multi racial country. It does not even have to be a compulsory rule, where the government can say those who choose to use it can use it and those who wish to continue to carry their races can do so.
I dont know about you guys but i would definitely Change my label from an Indian to a Malaysian and i would make my whole family do it if Hannah is successfull. What amuses me is that even with a fight of such meaning and depth is being fought by this amazing women, some of my fellow Indians are being sceptical over the proposal. I just read a blog by a fellow indian and he feels that hannah yeoh is only doing it because she is chinese and the husband is Indian so she doesnt want to label the child as neither one which is why she decided to come up with a fake proposal to label the child a Malaysian for selfish reasons. Sometimes these sceptics are amazingly blinded by their overwhelming righteousnes. All i have to ask is why do we have to doubt something that is good for all of us? Why make hannah look bad if shes fighting for something good? Even if she is doing it for herself, rest assured it will benefit us. If your not going to support and u choose to keep complaining, i would suggest you do it to urself and do not pull down those who want to make a difference.
God bless Malaysia, god bless Hannah
